Health Anouncement from Logan Rice


Health it is in our everyday life  it surrounds us. We should eat healthy because it causes us to be less prone to diseases and sickness. Some tips to stay healthy are to have six hand fulls of each food group these food groups include of dairy products including cheese and milk wheat, vegetables, fruit, meat, and other foods. If your surroundings are eating healthy food  it may encourage you to eat healthy.

March Healthy Eating Month

Introduction

The food you eat can affect your health and your risk for certain diseases. To eat healthier food, you may need to change some of your daily habits. You also may need to change some things in your environment. Your environment includes everything around you, like your home or the place you work.You don't need to make huge changes to eat healthier. And you don't have to change your habits all at the same time. It's best to set small goals and change your habits a little bit at a time. Over time, small changes can make a big difference in your health.

How To Prevent Childhood Obesity


Hello My Name is Matteo and these are the Frattaroli tips of the day to be a healthy kid.


  1. You should encourage healthy eating habits like consuming low-fat or even non-fat milk. You should also diet on Lean meats. And drink lots of water.

  2. Make your favourite dishes more healthy, For example if your favourite dish is Grilled Cheese, You can include 12 grain bread and use non processed cheese out of the plastic.

  3. Get involved in activities! Because if you do it increases bone strength, Increases your self esteem, and reduces stress and anxiety.Image result for healthy foods

Girls Basketball

Brennan is having some open gym nights for gr.8 girls looking to play basketball next year in high school.  The gym will be open on Wednesdays from 4-5:30.  Ther will be 45 min of drills and approx. 45 min of scrimmage type activities.

Oranges


Juicy and sweet known  for its concentration of vitamin C.  Oranges make the perfect snack and add a special tang to many recipes. It is no wonder that they are one of the most popular fruits in the world. Oranges are great for you and carry a great source of fiber, Vitamin C ,copper and potassium.

Orange tip:

Whenever you have a physical activity, bring an orange. Oranges will help you restore your energy.



Why did the orange go to the doctor? It wasn't peeling well.


Lent Campaign

Cardinals ... we are once again looking to make this Easter Season better for those families in our Windsor community who struggle in some way.  
ALMSGIVING - this is one of our callings during Lent.  It is defined as  "Any material favour done to assist the needy, and prompted by charity" 

Corpus Christi there are two ways YOU can take action:

1)  Your $2.00 donation (or greater if you are wanting) for Friday's dance will be used to purchase meals for the Downtown Mission. 

2) Also we are doing a "stuffy drive" for Divine Mercy.  So if you could bring in NEW stuffed animals (perhaps Easter themed and please note "small stuffies" are better), we can work to brighten a child's Easter.

Grade 7 Badminton Practice

This is a reminder that there is a grade 7 Badminton Practice today after School. 

HEALTHY ANNOUNCMENT

A few words from Jacob Leng

Starting the day without breakfast is like starting a car without gas. It does not work. Make a quick breakfast. Cereal, fruit and milk, whole grain bread with cheese, yogurt and fresh fruit are all healthy choices. From now on, enjoy breakfast before you head out the door!

Did you know that there are a few different ways to get our 60 minutes of physical activity? One way is getting moderate activity. Moderate activity makes you breathe harder and your heart beat faster. You should be able to talk, but not sing. Examples of moderate-intensity physical activity include walking quickly, skating, bike riding and skateboarding.

Dance

On Friday, we will be having a dance in the afternoon. For this Lenten season, we will be charging admission to help Divine Mercy and provide meals for the downtown mission for Easter. More information will follow during the week. There will be a request list going around this week for song suggestions.

Badminton

There is Grade 8 Badminton House Leagues today at the lunch recess.

There is a Grade 8 Badminton Team practice today and Wednesday after school. It will run until 4:45. Make sure you have the proper clothes for practice.
