Defense. I was a great game all around.  Thank you to the girls that showed up at practice this morning.  There will be a practice tomorrow morning, be prepared for the rain and bring extra shoes in case we stay in the gym. The game  tomorrow night is at Vianney.

Boys Soccer vs. St. Peter

Yesterday afternoon, the CCMS boys soccer team travelled into Tecumseh to take on St. Peter.

The boys survived a tentative start to the game, as play went back and forth in midfield, with neither team mounting much of an attack.

About halfway through the 1st half however, our Cardinals began to take control and eventually found the twine after a brilliant cross from Aidan found Chase in front of the Panther net.

In the 2nd half, CCMS played excellent on the defensive end, let by the play of 2 Jaydens, and potted 2 more goals to put the game away.  The first came on a free kick at half, taken by Alex, who sent the ball into the box to Andrew, who headed it home.   The final goal came on a breakaway by Brody who, slid the ball into the bottom left corner to make it 3-0.

That's how the score would stand at the final whistles.  Great job boys.

The team is reminded of their game tomorrow (Wednesday) at St. John Vianney.  Please arrange for your ride to pick you up at CCMS at 3:00pm

Boys Soccer (Monday)

Congrats to the CCMS Boys soccer team who travelled to St. Pius last Wednesday afternoon to play their first game of the season.

The boys got off to a great start and jumped out to a 1-0 lead on a goal by Andrew P.  That goal seemed to spark St. Pius, however, and they turned up the heat on our Cardinals and kept most of the play in our end for the 1st half.  They eventually tied the game 1-1 as the teams went into halftime.

The 2nd half was very different than the 1st.  Our Cardinal boys tilted the field in St. Pius' direction and put heavy pressure on the home side for the entire second half.  With about 10 minutes left, Marko B. put our Cards ahead to stay with a low shot in the box.  The final score was 2-1 Cardinals.

Congratulations boys.  Please be dismissed for today's game at St. Peter at 3:15pm.
